The foodbank will use donations to buy food directly from suppliers at a cheaper rate. This is the most helpful way of donating food to us - as monetary donations help us buy exactly what we need each week, and this also helps us to reduce food waste which is good for the planet too.
We have worked with NHS fife to create food parcels that meet nutritional requirements for a healthy diet. These include a balanced mix of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. To do this we need to purchase fresh food items such as fruit and vegetables, eggs, milk, bread etc. We cannot accept these food items at our usual donation points due to storage facilities, meaning only no perishable food items can be taken. However, these items are some of the ones we need most - donating online like this means you can support us in purchasing these items to help those facing food insecurity have access to quality nutrition during a time of crisis.
