About Kirkcaldy Foodbank
Kirkcaldy Foodbank is an independent foodbank based in Kirkcaldy, Fife, that supports those facing food insecurity by providing emergency food aid parcels to anyone in need. Kirkcaldy Foodbank first opened in 2013. It came about because of growing evidence that food aid provision in the Kirkcaldy area was not meeting demand. Kirkcaldy Foodbank had no idea that 10 years on, sadly we would still be needed. The foodbank has since become the key safety net for the community and aims to ensure nobody in the area goes hungry. Kirkcaldy Foodbank is often a first point of call for accessing further support and our volunteers can help signpost people to additional support agencies that may be able to help them. Kirkcaldy Foodbank works closely with other charities and agencies in the area.
Our values are: Respect, dignity, empathy, being non-judgmental, understanding, compassion, confidentiality.
We believe in a community where everyone has access to sufficient and nutritious food, where no-one has to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
Our mission
Our mission is that nobody in the Kirkcaldy area goes hungry and everybody shares what they have.
